Top 10 Causes of a Slow PC

1.      System Start-up with many applications

As you add more programs to your computer, some of these applications automatically add themselves to Windows Start-up folder.  Additionally, these applications can add themselves quietly to a hidden area of your Windows Start-up system can only be accessed by MSCONFIG command. In some cases this may cause your PC to completely frozen.

Limiting the number of applications to load at start-up can speed boot times considerably and increase overall system performance.


2.  Spyware

Malicious programs known as SPYWARE, stealthily embed themselves into Windows Registry and system files cause of a slow PC or poor PC performance. 

Spyware usually installed without users knowledge or consent. These generally gets installed or pushed automatically in the background when user visit the website and try to install some unknown free software for trial. 4. Fragmented Hard Drive

Another common reason for a slow PC is hard drive fragmentation.  Over the time files can be scattered all over your hard drive, this is called fragmentation.  Windows has a built in tool to de-fragment the hard drive
o        Go to My Computer,
o        Right-click C: Drive , then “Properties”
o        Select the “Tools” choose “Defragment Now” option and follow the step by step instructions.
