5. Security
Software
Security software programs and suites demands huge portion of your system
resources
and memory. This can also be a cause of slow PC performance
because the security
software may constantly scanning and monitoring your
computer for threats.
6. Uninstalled programs
Uninstalling an application through control panel or by application’s
uninstall program has been known to leave behind bits and pieces of the
uninstalled program. These bits and pieces may also slow down the PC .
7. Pagefile
The
Windows page file is a temporary area of memory that your computer uses to
move files around while it processes functions. Basically, it’s a buffer
that computer uses a a scratch pad. If the Page file is too small, this
will cause poor performance and error messages.
To increase the size of your Pagefile:
o Right-click on “My Computer” then “Properties”
o Click the “Advanced” tab
o Click “Settings” under the “Performance” section
o Click the “Advanced” button
o Click “Change” under “Virtual Memory”
Restart your PC

Hard Drive getting full and too many internet temp

If your hard drive has less than 10% free space, you will experience a
slow PC performance. Free up some hard drive space by removing unwanted
programs and files. Also delete Internet Explorer temporary files

Viruses strike your computer when you open an infected email or instant
messages, although they can also be installed via applications or files
were download from file-sharing networks and other non-trusted web
sites.
Get a good Anti-virus software, install, update the definitions and then
run a complete/ full scan on the PC.
10. Hardware
Problems
Computer Hardware components can often cause the slow boot and shut down
and poor program run with errors.
If you think you can do it, unplug all the cables (including Power) from
the back of the PC, open the cover and remove any newly installed
component to see if it is the cause of a problem. Else take your PC to
a certified, trusted hardware repair shop.
